Protect yourself against phishing!

Protect yourself against phishing!

Recently, it has become increasingly common that unknown persons misuse the names of the NTCA (National Tax and Customs Administration) and other official organisations to persuade our Bank’s customers to send their personal bank identifiers and bank card data to fake e-mail addresses. With the information obtained, the offenders initiate unauthorised transactions against our Customers' bank accounts.

For GRÁNIT Bank, providing digital financial services is a key mission, so we pay special attention to providing our Customers with several options to keep their bank cards safe through our IT system known for its outstanding security level; however, our Customers also need to exercise proper caution against phishing. Please be aware that these fraudulent, false pages are often deceptively similar to the original websites, but exercising proper caution will enable you to identify any suspicious elements that can help you decide whether the page is genuine or is a fake one designed to extract your data. Such warning signs might include the name of the website, any grammar or language mistakes, or the use of inaccurate or unprofessional terms. It is also recommended to check the original link, as it shows the sender of the message.

PROTECT YOURSELF AGAINST CARD FRAUDS!

In order to avoid any fraudulent use of your bank card and keeping it safe, we recommend using the bank card Lock and Set Limit functions in the Gránit Bank eBank application. The bank card Lock function within the app allows you to lock your bank card and activate it only before the actual payment, thus eliminating the possibility of bank card frauds. You can also prevent fraud by keeping your bank card limit at HUF 0, and increasing it to the desired amount only before a cash withdrawal or making a purchase with your bank card. Please refer to the instructions on how to install and use the Bank's mobile application (eBank), which are available on our website by clicking on the link: https://granitbank.ro. By using eBank, you will be able to keep your finances safer, and monitor and control the balance of your bank account.

WHAT TO DO IN SUSPICIOUS CASES:

  • NTCA or other official organisations never ask for your bank card details. Please contact the Bank's customer service of such events!
  • If you receive an e-mail or message asking you to provide your data or ID used for Bank services by clicking on a link in an e-mail or by calling a telephone number, please never comply with such request. Instead, please contact the Bank's customer service immediately!
  • We recommended that, whatever the source of the news or message about a service, you should always check the official information channel or website of the specific organisation first, and verify the information contained in the message.
  • If your browser indicates a certificate error on the NetBank website, please contact the Bank's Customer Service immediately!
  • If you have entered your identifier in response to a fraudulent e-mail or SMS message sent on behalf of the Bank, please change your ID or block the affected devices as soon as possible and contact the Bank's Customer Service for information!
